Time for winter pruning!
As we move into the cold and stormy winter months, the trees in our area become dormant. When trees become dormant, the growth and development of the tree are temporarily stopped. When the tree loses it’s leaves and the tree becomes bare, it is easier to see the structure of the tree which makes pruning easier. It is also a good time to prune because insects and disease that have the potential to harm a tree are also dormant. Pruning during winter improves regrowth in the spring.
As the weather grows colder, the trees become brittle and the potential for broken branches increases. Broken and damaged branches could become a major hazard and safety concern for any property (or people!) that is in the tree’s path.
We have also helped customers who have already had broken branches fall on their property in the last few weeks. We were able to come and evaluate what neeed to be pruned in order for the tree to become safe and cleaned up their property and cleared away any hazards that may have arose. It is important that the tree be inspected after a branch has fallen to ensure that there are no other potential issues.
Econo Tree Service is here and ready to help you with any winter pruning needs. If you have a fallen branch on your property, please call us right away so we can send an estimator to your property to inspect the damage. We can get working right away on clearing your property and pruning the remainder of the tree to ensure that there are no other hazards that may affect you.
